HOW TO MEASURE

If it is not possible for you to come to the workshop before ordering a hat, there are some essential aspects to keep in mind:
– Head size (circumference),
– Head shape (round oval, long oval, intermediate oval), and
– Face shape (the proportions of the face are important because the hat must balance your dimensions, not exaggerate them).

To determine your head size, you need a flexible measuring tape (if possible, ask someone for help).
The measuring tape should be held firmly, but not too tightly.

The measuring tape must be placed across 3 crucial areas:
– above the eyebrows (about 1-2 fingers)
– above the ears (about 1-2 fingers)
– on the most prominent area of the back of your head
Basically, you need to measure your head exactly where the hat will sit.

Repeat the measurement several times to determine the correct size.
If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the larger size.
Once you have determined the size, see the Size Chart below.

If you want a hat that has the exact shape of your head, you need a measurement with a special device, and this can only be done in the workshop.

HEAD SHAPE

Although the size is the right one, the hat can be uncomfortable due to the shape of the head (for example, if you have a round head and the hat is made on an intermediate oval block, it will be too tight on your temples; if you have a long oval head and the hat is made on a round oval block, it will be too wide at the temples and will press the forehead and the back of your head).

To determine the shape of the head, 2 measurements are needed:
A = distance from one ear to another
B = distance from the forehead to the back of the head

Round oval = A is approximately equal to B
Intermediate oval = A is slightly smaller than B
Long oval = A is considerably smaller than B
